Our veggie burger: what exactly is it?

Followers of the vegan diet (or rather this way of life) know well what to replace food of animal origin. For example, in the case of our hamburger, instead of using the classic beef steak, we prepare a vegetable meatball made with red beans. And to go even further in our culinary experiments, we also replace bread with its vegetable equivalent, in particular avocado. The result is a delicious dish full of fiber, protein and omega-3. A recipe that fits perfectly into the different low-carb diets.

Not only is this hamburger healthier, but its preparation is very simple. All you have to do is prepare the veggie balls and then put it all together. Below, we explain the method in detail (and in photos!).

  1. In a bowl, first mix the ingredients needed to prepare the vegan dumplings. These include: red beans, yellow onion and garlic.
  2. Then we add mustard and ketchup, psyllium and spices (cumin, smoked paprika, paprika and salt).
  3. Mix everything well to form a uniform paste.
  4. Then, from the preparation, we make vegetarian steaks.
  5. Finally, grill the meatballs (3 to 4 minutes on each side).
  6. The vegetable fillets are ready, all that remains is to assemble the hamburger. For that :
  7. Cut an avocado in half. Place one of the halves on a surface, then top with fresh arugula, a veggie meatball, mayo and cherry tomatoes.
  8. Close the hamburger with the second half of avocado.
  9. Sprinkle with sesame seeds.

Is the veggie burger healthier?

In fact, yes. In principle, the standard hamburger is classified as bad cholesterol junk food. This is obviously explained by the mixture of meat, bread and many other products rich in saturated fat. On the other hand, the vegetarian hamburger (and especially in this version without bread) is a healthier solution. It does not contain gluten, it is rich in vegetable proteins and fiber. That’s why it’s an excellent solution to spoil yourself with a healthy burger without regrets!
