eat at homemade hamburger between friends like homeis the concept of these three Friends from Rennes with its establishment called Homies burgers. After a common experience in Ethnic Food brand outlets in Rennes, Basil, Antoine and Charlie they decided to open theirs together first restaurant opting for homemade recipes.
The three of us wanted to keep working and doing what we knew how to do, but with our own values. The project was launched during the health crisis and confinements. We worked on our proposal, adjusted our recipes until we were satisfied and we started.
Going into this cozy little restaurant, located rue de Nantes between the boulevards Jacques Cartier and Georges Clemenceau, the striking blue and orange colors mixed with the good smell of hot bread – prepared and cooked on site (we checked) – i grilled meat (Bretons and chopped fresh every day) are delicious.
The atmosphere is just as pleasant thanks to the three managers with which we have feel friends from the first second.
Original hamburger names
On the menu, they are proposed five hamburger recipes to the confessions that collect precisely the personalities that can be found in a group of friends: greedy, teasing, friends, Veggie, boy. “The idea was to say thatwe all have a friend one way or another”, they explain.
Soon, hamburgers with seasonal products will be added to the map.
The accompaniment to the burger that needs no introduction is, of course, the French fries. And there they are also homemade, just like them sauces : ketchup, homies (creation inspired by biggy sauce), white, mayonnaise, tease, pepper. The “sides”two types of cheese croquettes i desserts (biscuits and panna cotta) too.
A concept that pleases
open since October 11Homies (which means friends, friends from the same neighborhood in American slang) Burger seems to have found its clientele and its place in the neighborhood, according to its managers.
“We really want to see ourselves as a neighborhood business. The first returns they were positive and objective. There is even a resident who told us that he was going to talk about us in the neighborhood whatsapp group. We are very well received and we hope it continues”, they conclude.
