Who said you couldn’t enjoy a good fruit salad in the winter? In fact, the winter season is not ideal for strawberries, cherries or other red fruits, but it offers enough possibilities to make a fruit-based dessert full of flavors. The test with this succulent recipe was discovered on the site The Richmond Register, composed mainly of seasonal fruits. On your spoons!
Ingredients
- 3 cups diced pineapple chunks
- 1 cup peeled, quartered and sliced kiwi
- 2 cups tangerine or clementine wedges
- 1/2 cup pomegranate seeds
- 3 tablespoons lemon or lime juice
- 3 spoons of honey
- 1 tablespoon of poppy seeds
- A few fresh mint leaves for garnish (optional)
Preparing the winter fruit salad
- Put the pineapple, kiwi and pre-sliced tangerines in a large salad bowl.
- Add the pomegranate seeds.
- Prepare the poppy seed vinaigrette. In a small bowl, whisk together the lemon juice, honey and poppy seeds.
- Pour the poppy seed vinaigrette over the fruit and toss gently so that the fruit is well soaked in the dressing.
- Garnish your fruit salad with some mint leaves (optional).
