It all starts with what we might have taken for an April Fool’s joke. Friday, April 1, 2022, Burger King presents a new recipe: the Flexi Whooper. “The first non-vegetarian veggie burger“. With a steak of meat and a bite of vegetables, the fast food brand surprised more than one with this puzzling novelty. Many netizens have pointed to the day of this announcement thinking it was an April Fool’s joke. No however, three days later, the Flexi Whooper is still on the Burger King menu.
On his social networks, the King of the hamburger and communication is delighted to have had “idea of the century“. Well, they believed him. After launching its first vegetarian burger last summer following a bet, Burger King has “it had the real feel of the century»: they offer their classic hamburgers in a vegetarian version. Yeah yeah ! You read correctly. From now on, the Whooper, Steakhouse and Big King XXL are available with the option of chopping vegetables. “From now on, the choice is yours“.
Burger King finally offers a vegetarian option for its sandwiches!
After launching new, if not original, recipes like the burger and peanut butter fries, Burger King’s ambition seems to be to expand its vegetarian offerings in its restaurants. In Germany last summer, a Burger King without meat had opened its doors in an ephemeral way. And this time, the vegetarian offer is indeed in France! Whether it’s the Whooper, the Steakhouse or the Big King XXL, you can now order them with a veggie chop instead of a beef steak.

And to avoid any confusion, like the French Veggie King, these sandwiches are vegetarian and not vegan. So they keep their slices of cheese and their different sauces. But it’s already good news for vegetarians or even for the curious who want to try a burger without meat and, who knows, appreciate them!
At the moment, we do not know how long the veggie option will remain on the menu, but in any case, Burger King has once again counted on us with its perfectly conducted communication. Like what, they don’t always joke!
