At the end of the year, raclette is an essential meal! Because it offers us moments of conviviality with friends, and gourmet pleasures. However, if we could prevent the appearance of love wrists, the satisfaction would be total. To make the most of your raclette moments, just follow our 5 little tips!
You can’t skip the raclette, because it’s a little pleasure we allow ourselves at the end of the year. To avoid feeling guilty, we give you 5 tips to make your raclette healthy.
Reduce your quantities:
Raclette is a hearty meal, where you don’t stop until your stomach is full. Nothing prevents you from enjoying these moments of togetherness, you just have to eat less of them. During your meal, take your time to eat your food. Take your time when chewing! (so that your brain sends a satiety message to your body). Grill your slices of cheese, one after the other and not at the same time. Limit yourself to 6 slices of cheese and 125 to 150 grams of cold cuts.
Replace potatoes with vegetables:
You can also add a small green salad to the side of your raclette for added pleasure! If you’ve already seen it, be more original by offering endives, sweet potato, pumpkin, mushrooms… Not only are vegetables lower in calories than potatoes, but they’re just as good with cheese. Regardless of your choice of vegetables, you’ll be satisfied for longer and have packed on fewer calories.
Instead of raclette cheese, choose cancoillotte which is much lower in calories and has the same taste. If you like to vary the pleasures, do not hesitate to introduce yourself goat cheese, Fourme d’Ambert, mozzarella. You can play with the amounts by heating the potatoes or vegetables in a pan with small pieces of cheese.

Choose good quality meat:
Raclette is often accompanied by sausages rich in salt, which is a source of cholesterol. Choose your charcuterie carefully, or prefer white meats like turkey breast.
Limit your alcohol intake:
We often accompany our raclettes with alcohol, but this does not help to make the food lighter. Try to reduce your alcohol consumption. This will make your meal less caloric.
However, nothing prevents you from enjoying a simple evening of raclette every now and then. The tips we gave you above allow you to vary your pleasures.
